Can you believe this? This wouldn't even "go" in my house, but I want one so badly I'm sitting here trying to think of some way to make one.
It can't be that hard, can it? I bet you if I bought a commercial Lite Brite I could take the thing apart and turn it into a groovy lamp like this. I'm not big on the red/orange/pink color combo side, but I could do a whole lamp in something like the green/blue side.
Do they even still make the Lite Brite? I had one as a kid, but I can't see how it would possibly entertain today's youth. I think mine even had templates, so you could recreate designs that actually looked like things. Maybe that's why I can't draw—I used the templates instead of actually being creative.

Oh my god, yes! I loved my Lite Brite as a kid. And I had the templates, too, and might be uncreative for the very same reason.
Maybe you could get this?
